FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


1. Why is an appointment necessary for an estimate?

No two households are exactly the same even if identical in size and layout. Furthermore people have different expectations, needs and wishes. House cleaners who make estimates on the phone usually can't deliver quality work. Trust us and schedule your free and no-obligation estimate appointment.


2. Do you need a key for my home?

We strongly recommend it because you don't need to be at home and you don't put yourself at risk by hiding the key somewhere around your house. We are bonded and insured for your safety and protection. In addition your key is identified only by a coded number (never by your name or address) and, except for the day we clean for you, it is locked up in a safe.


3. Do I have to do anything before the maids arrive?

Not necessarily. If you want us to clean thoroughly you can pick up your home a little before the appointment. We can not pick up for you because we don't know where to put everything. If there is something that we should know, just leave a note on the kitchen counter. For example: "Please don't let the cat into the master bedroom" or "Be careful with the big picture in the stairwell, it's loose".



4. When and how can I pay?

Payment is due each time we're in your home. If you have scheduled recurring cleanings, please leave your check at the kitchen counter, payable to "Maids on a Broom, LLC" (no cash, please). You can also pay via Credit Card.


5. Do you charge by the hour?

No, we charge by the job. The price for the initial cleaning and for recurring cleanings will be calculated using a specific formula which covers our costs. Of course we need to see your home to appraise the time necessary for each cleaning, but finally our quote is based on the job. And don't worry: We aren't expensive because we are no franchise and we don't have to pay royalties. We just look like one and we are just as professional.


6. Do I have to sign a contract?

No. You can cancel our recurring services any time you wish.


7. Can I ask to clean something I didn't mention at the estimate?

Of course. We won't charge you for every little additional task. We only have to ask for an extra fee if we need much longer at your home because of the additional work. Please don't forget that your cleaning team has several clients to serve every day. The perfect solution is to call ahead or leave a note asking the maids to do the task on their next visit.



8. What is your cancellation policy. 

Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to your service date excluding weekends and holidays. Cancellation made after this time will be billed at the scheduled rate.
